Told Me A Story

Sensory hallucination is a scary thing

I thought you were lying to me but I guess I was tripping

Tell me another tale of unfortunate madness

I’m in need of entertainment and after all I’m your guest

You told me "I cannot picture you in my family landscape",

Sipping a mojito,  yellowed fingers holding a joint

And you popped a valium, lit your cigarette and murmured, (so darkly)

“I loved you because I thought, Oh I thought you were strong”

Say now, you told me a story, Say now, you told me a story

A fiction to spur me on, A tale I could chew on

Still I remain your fool, Nothing but a tool

Sometimes at night, drenched in infinite sadness

I connect with the lost desires of your heart I confess

The dreams, the hopes and the laughter that  I remember (so sweetly)

Are as rare as snow in july, or haven’t you heard ?

And I, who loved you more than all your gods

Who cried rivers deep enough to drown a dozen worlds

And I, who spent hours looking at your likeness

I feel nothing when you appear but a blessed disgust

Say now, you told me a story, Say now, you told me a story

A fiction to spur me on, A tale I could chew on

Still I remain your fool, Nothing but a tool
